If you don't use TerraSync, just make sure your TerraMaster download folder is declared as a scenery directory in your launcher. In the latter case, the setting should be saved when you quit FG. Disabling TerraSync can be done in your launcher certainly, by passing -disable-terrasync to fgfs, or in-sim from the File dialog ("Scenery download" IIRC). If your TerraMaster download folder is elsewhere, TerraSync should not touch it. TerraSync should not write to any random folder. I have never used TerraMaster personally, but in your situation I think I would disable TerraSync to be sure a) not to waste bandwidth downloading stuff I already have and b) not to step on TerraMaster's toes. But then I don't think it is a good idea to let TerraSync muck with the directory that TerraMaster has updated.
